What is the name of the file that Norton is detecting as irc.backdoor.bot? The file name should be in the Quarantine folder of Norton. Concerning your HJT log. 1. Did you intentionally install the Ask.com toolbar for your browser? There are several security programs that consider this to be adware because it gets added without user permission. If you did not add this toolbar intentionally, remove it via Add or Remove Programs in the Control Panel. The two HJT entries below should no longer exist after your remove the Ask.com toolbar. O2 - BHO: AskBar BHO - {201f27d4-3704-41d6-89c1-aa35e39143ed} - C:\Program Files\AskBarDis\bar\bin\askBar.dll O3 - Toolbar: Foxit Toolbar - {3041d03e-fd4b-44e0-b742-2d9b88305f98} - C:\Program Files\AskBarDis\bar\bin\askBar.dll 2. Is planetlab2.win.trlabs.ca your bonafide proxy server on your system? If you are not using a proxy server, then there may be problem in the HJT entry below R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings,ProxyServer = planetlab2.win.trlabs.ca:3128 Other than the above, the HJT is not showing anything potentially malicious. You should also run a FULL System with TrojanHunter with your computer booted into SAFE MODE. - Be sure that you have the latest rulesets of TH installed before running this scan.
