As you know, no security program catches 100% of the infections 100% of the time. You could have a new variant of the malware and Gavin/Magnus haven't caught up with it yet. Or it could even be a False Positive by Bit Defender. Also, Gavin/Magnus focus TrojanHunter on malicious files that are not typically found by the normal anti-virus program scanners. TH is a supplement to your AV program, not a replacement for your AV. Whereas there are hundreds of thousands of malicious elements identified on the web, it is difficult for a single program to detect every single one. If you still have the infected .WMA file that Bit Defender is detecting, would you please submit it to Mischel Internet Security for analysis. The link below describes how to submit. http://www.misec.net/forum/board/FAQ/1139308293 Or if you do not have the file itself but know exactly where you downloaded this specific .WMA, would you email that download link for the malicious file. Please send a direct download link to the specific malicious file. Thanks in advance for your submittal. Hopefully I have answered your question to your satisfaction. Here's a link where this specific trojan was found by Bit Defender Quote:C:\Documents and Settings\Tyann Brice\Shared\Eighties classic.wma Infected with: Trojan.Downloader.WMA.Wimad.Q |
