G'Day Global Moderator "siliconman01" Interesting reply - debate - take me on anytime! There is a fast difference between “Internet Security” i.e. securing a PC user against fraudulent activity and of protecting a users Passwords, Bank, Credit card, and other personal information and that of malicious software payloads being installed through Spyware, Malware, Adware, Trojans, Worms, Viruses, etc. hidden from the unsuspecting user on URL’s that they may visit or through so to speak “Free Software, Tool Bars and Computer Utilities” that profess to protect and or enhance the users experience and or assisting them in optimizing the use and otherwise improve the speed and reduce errors occurring on their PC system. The corruption in Police Forces and other Judiciary Agencies world wide is also nothing new and yes if they are crook, then they are also involved in the criminal activity racket from which they profess to protect us and those involved are also Racketeers or Criminals, whichever you like or prefer to call them. It should not be of a great revelation that we know that there are crooks in the “Internet Security” industry selling Internet Security Suites for protection against malicious software payloads, Viruses, etc. praying on Novice PC users, by generating some of the very same malicious codes from which they then offer to protect us from! It comes to no surprise to most of us, that we have a new Virus, Trojan or other malicious code released and within hour, a (one) particular Anti-WhateverName Publisher has a solution for it providing we purchase their product, or on the other hand the publisher offers to resolve an infection issue, when in fact they cannot. Noteworthy is also the fact that in some instances a particular type of malicious codes can only be cleaned by a particular publisher of or to the solution. Whereas we may think that a lot of these codes come from the Eastern block countries (Russia, Romania, etc) or the Asian countries (China, Korea, India, etc) it should also not come as a surprise that most come from the good old USA and some bad ones have even come from Australia. This is in addition to the Phishing and other fraudulent attempts to Hijack the information from a users PC, again I would suggest that this is a separate security issue and has different consequences and results. Attempting to steal my car is one thing, putting sugar in the petrol tank to foul the function of the engine in the car, is another! Phishing and other attempts to hijack a computer for the purpose of obtaining Bank and other confidential information is steeling or theft, malicious codes on the other hand foul the function of your computer operating system (engine) and data making it un-usable for what reason? I will leave you to think and contemplate on these remarks and know revelations. You have a good day now you hear and don’t loose any sleep over it. The world may not be an idealic place, however there is no justification why some among us, so called human beings, defecate on the rest of us.
