Murlo Trojan

Hi, I have had this problem for a few weeks now and am at my wits end trying to eradicate it.  I use NOD32, TH vs 4.6 Xoftspyxe, and various stand alone software to try and keep my system clean.

Now however I get the MURLO TROJAN (4 counts) every time I boot up.  I always do a quick scan with XoftSpyXE (because it is so quick) and it always reports that have have this contamination.  I use the same software to remove it and run the scan again to confirm that it's no longer there.  However the very next time I boot up the contamination is back again.

I have tried scanning in safe mode and I did manage to find something called a Trojan loader but when I booted up again MURLO was back.

Can anyone help.  I have sent an email to Mischel about this too.

It's likely that the detection of "Murlo" on your system by XoftSpy is a false positive.

If you google on "XoftSpy Murlo" you'll find a lot of malware forum threads with this issue and the conclusion that XoftSpy is not very good, in fact it is itself considered by some as "riskware" - for example:

I think you'll find that if you get rid of XoftSpy you'll also remove the apparent "Murlo" problem  Wink
