What is the Win32/VB.GK?

I just got a file from a friend and my cp security says that it found  TrojanDropper:Win32/VB.GK.  How much destruction will it do and why can't I find any info on it? Someone, please help me Huh

Welcome to the forum PChighjacker.
 
If you google Win32 VB.gk, you will find many pages which classify this as DANGEROUS.
 
I suggest that you remove it pronto.  If your cp security does not remove it, please follow the instructions found in the link below:

What the hell is a .rar file?

Could you help me out on something that has nothing to do with viruses?
I downloaded a bunch of torrents and most of them are .rar files.
What is a .rar file and how can I play it?
I have never heard of them until I got into torrents.

RAR is a high compression algorithm, much like ZIP.  You will need to uncompress the .RAR files in order to run them.  XP provides an unZipper; however XP does not provide anything to decompress RAR files.  You will need to add one to your system.

NOTE:  BE VERY CAREFUL with Torrent files.  They are notorious for being infected with all types of malicious critters.

I am still on XP and have no experience with Vista as yet.  You will need to check the websites to see if Vista compatibility is provided.  I doubt if Iceows is Vista compatible.  WinRAR is beta testing its Vista compatibility version....V3.70, Beta 5.

Not that I am aware of unless you can locate a password cracker program on the web....none of which I am familiar with.
