Need Help with Possible Trojan...Hijackthis log

Two monts ago my computer was crashing very frequently and I was able to detect a kolweb trojan with ewido.  After I quarantined everything ewido could catch, the crashes stopped immediately.  A week ago they started back and have gotten increasingly more frequent.

I believe that traces of this trojan are probably still on my computer, but ewido, trojanhunter, and spyware doctor have been unable to find anything.  Please read my hijackthis log below and tell me what looks suspicious.

Welcome to the forum alwayscrashing  Wink

The only thing that is showing up in your HJT log is that you have MyQuickSearch toolbar installed which is considered adware.

Please submit the two files below to Mischel Internet Security for analysis.  Gavin will analyze them and decide whether they are harmful on your system.  It may take a couple of days because it is the weekend.  The link below explains how to submit files.

MQSSRCAS.DLL

MQSBAR.DLL

I don't think these will be the cause of your system crashing however.

I assume you are aware that Microsoft will stop issuing any security updates for Service Pack 1 as of 10-October-06.  You really should consider going on up to Service Pack 2.  This could be the cause of some of your crashing because some programs on your system may be not functioning properly on this old Service Pack of XP.

You should run a remote scan with Bit Defender and Kaspersky to see if these pick up anything that the other security software is missing.  The link below provides links to these remote scanners.  BE SURE your resident AV scanner is deactivated during the remote scans.  Also you need to use IE for the browser and let the website download ActiveX modules to prep for the scans.

Note that Bit Defender will try to disinfect or remove anything it finds.  Kaspersky will only show that something malicious is found.

Another significant possibility for the crashing is that you have conflicts going on between your security software.  I notice that you have AOL AntiSpyware, ewido, Spyware Doctor and NAV running together in memory.
