HELPEXP.EXE  TROJAN HORSE

I am a novice and need help and or advice.  My virus scanner displays a box on my screen that states that I have a trojan horse and it cannot remove it.  I read the reviews on Trojan Hunter and plan to purchase it. Will Trojan Hunter "automatically" remove this trojan horse from my computer, or must it be removed manually?

I apologize if my question appears ignorant; I truly am a novice with computers.

Thanks,
Binkie

The most likely reason your virus scanner isn't able to remove the file is that the trojan is running and the file thus can't be deleted. Please send the file that your virus scanner detects to submit@trojanhunter.com for analysis. If you scan with TrojanHunter, make sure you temporarily disable your virus scanner since otherwise it will block access to the file and TrojanHunter won't be able to clean it either.

As I mentioned, I am truly a novice.  Could you please tell me how to send the file?

What do you use for your email?

What is the name of the program you use to send emails?  If it is outlook express follow as below:

Open up outlook express.
Click Create Mail.
In the "to" line typesubmit@trojanhunter.com
In the subject type a suitable subject for the email, egHELPEXP.EXE Trojan Horse
Then in the email message, copy your original post in there.
Click at the top Insert, then File Attachment.
Locate HELPEXP.EXE on your pc, click the file when you have found it, and click attach.
Then click send, to send it Smiley.

If you need any more info or use something else for email let me know.

I have tried to send the HelpExp.exe file but am told that the file does not exist.  I tried restarting my computer to disable Norton, but before I can disable it the message box comes up quarantining the file.  Then I tried to submit the file from quarantine to Norton but receive the message that Norton already is aware of it and I should not submit it.

Also tried deleting the file from the quarantine, but when I restart my computer the quarantine box containing the file comes up again.  I am at a loss!

When norton quarantines the file, can you note the actual name of the trojan (probably backdoor.something), in blue text, and post it here.
