Now Scanning Folders!!!!

Just upgraded to 5.3 and now when I try to open a folder in say Pictures, Trojan Hunter launches, only way to open a folder is to right click and select open.  WHYHuh

Please see the last post in the link below by Viet_Vet.  This user fixed this issue on his Vista system as stated in this last post.  Does this fix work for you?

Fix as described did not work, the bug is driving me mad, ready to ditch the software if it's not fixed soon.

I have emailed Magnus to please check in on your forum post and in resolving the issue.
 
Please clarify something for me.
 
Are these folders on your desktop?
 
Does this happen if you open Windows Explorer and then try to open folders from within Windows Explorer?

I normally open files via Rocket Dock this contains Document, Picture etc files, the same thing happens if I try an open a file via Explorer.  
After I open a file in say Picture by right clicking on the folder a new item appears on the task bar saying Scan with TrojanHunter, does this on every type of folder in every section.

I suspect that the use of Rocket Dock is causing the latest version of TH to do what is happening on your 'puter.  However, Magnus will have to weigh in on this...hopefully very soon.

Hi,
 
If you are familiar with using the registry editor, please start regedit and delete the following key: HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\AllFileSystemObjects\shell\TrojanHunter
 
Only delete the TrojanHunter sub-key and not anything else. This should solve the problem with the pictures folder but will also disable right-click scanning for other folders.

Hm that's very strange and I wish I could reproduce it here. The registry fix will still solve the problem though.

Thanks the regedit fixed worked, at least I'm not launching Trojan Hunter ever time I select a folder

Hello everybody,
 
I do not know which forum thread to post this in, but I am in need of some help.
 
I emailed tech support and got no response. Sad
 
 
I installed and purchased TH.
 
Whenever I wish to view a folder, TH opens and does a scan. It , after completing said scan, will still not allow me to access the folder.
 
The only way that I can access my folders on my computer, which are clean, is to right click and choose "Explore".
 
Is there any way around this?
 
I have owned TH for years and since repurchasing it and buying a new license, this has been an issue.
 
Are there any special options that I should or should not have checked?
 
It would be great if I could just click on folders or files and access them!
 
Thanks again!
 
 
***Should I go through and tinker with the registry "fix" listed above? Thanks!

The regedit solution worked for me, just follow the instructions as posted, the AllFilesSystemObjects  line took a bit of spotting but just look carefully.

Yes, please follow victorm62's advice and make the registry modification.  If you are concerned about making a registry change, I will post exact steps to make this modification.
