I know you are working on a new version of TH that is fully 64 bit and Win7 compatible.

Cany you give us a progress report and estimated release date?

Hi Magnus,

Anymore news about it?

PS:
I saw your blog from 7 Jan 2010 about a new project "in the cloud".
Although I do understand it, I for one do hope that TH will be "off the cloud".

Best regards

Alright a slight unexpected problem here, but the final tested release will be out by the end of the week.

No Beta testing?  "final tested release" sounds like a full public release.

So an update on the progress: The good news is that I have narrowed down the issue that causes the error message on clicking the "Schedule" button in the scanner on 64-bit systems. The bad news is it might take another couple of days to produce a fixed version.

To be more specific, the issue has to do with the fact that Windows is trying to load a 64-bit DLL (mstask.dll) when it should be trying to load the 32-bit version of the DLL. I am confident that since I have identified the problem now the fix will be forthcoming shortly.

Tom: Yes, I agree that the new version should be beta-tested. I will make a beta version available once the fix is in place.

I believe I have now solved the problem. So hopefully there will be a beta version available very soon.

Still working out a last kink that is preventing things from running smoothly on Win7 x64. Very frustrated with Microsoft right now as it seems to be a bug on their part.

I've read that some developers are having to update to the latest compiler versions (such as Delphi 2010) in order to make things work properly on Win 7....

I do have Delphi 2010, but the problem is with a Microsoft API call (CoCreateInstance) that is not loading the correct 32-bit version of mstask.dll. Instead, it tries to load the 64-bit version from system32 (which obviously doesn't work from a 32-bit app, hence an error message). So somehow WOW64 redirection is broken and I'll probably have to work around it.

Hopefully you will not encounter the same problem in making right click scanning functional on Vista and Win 7 x64.
