Alcohol 120%?

I'm using Trojan Hunter v5, and after performing a scan, it reports that Alcohol.exe is a Trojan. I purchased this software so why would it report it as a Trojan?

Found trojan file: C:\Program Files\Alcohol Soft\Alcohol 120\Alcohol.exe/Upx.czspcqyp (Generic.Agent.C)

Found trojan file: C:\Program Files\Alcohol Soft\Alcohol 120\star_syn_client.dll/Upx.ayhmglss (Generic.Agent.C)

Welcome to the forum Executioner  Cheesy

There appears to definitely be a false positive being detected by TH on your system.

Would you please submit the following files to Mischel Internet Security so that Magnus/Gavin can correct the detection rules to prevent them from detecting Alcohol.  The link below describes how to submit files.

http://www.misec.net/forum/board/FAQ/1139308293

Files to submit:

Alcohol.exe
star_syn_client.dll

I have e-mailed Gavin/Magnus concerning your problem.

Done. Thanks for your help.

What is really funny is my free Yahoo email would not attach the zip file. According to its Norton scanner, it was reported as a virus:

Alert! Alcohol.zip can't be attached. It has an uncleanable virus

The file checks out fine with NOD32 which I have running. I sent the file via Mozilla Thunderbird.

Very interesting indeed.  You may wish to run those two files through a jotti scan via the website below and see what the conglomerate of scanners have to say about them.
