trial version problems

Hello,
 
I downloaded the trial version to see if I wanted to buy TrojanHunter.  I've read on the internet good things about TrojanHunter, but I ran into several problems!  I read that the trial version has all the features of the full purchased version, just a 30 day license.
 
Here's the problems that I had.
 
I couldn't update, it reported authorization failed.
I even disabled my firewall incase it was blocking the request, but it didn't make a difference.
 
TrojanHunter wouldn't remove trojans that it found.
I even tried unistalling it and reinstalling it incase something had gone wrong with the install.  No change
 
The Custom scan doesn't work right.
 
 
Are these limitations of the trial version??  
Could someone enlighten me about this

The only restriction with the trial version is that you have to manually update the detection rulesets.  This is done through the link below.

Gavin typically updates the rulesets daily, 7 days a week.  The new rulesets are usually added to the manual update around 3 a.m. daily (EST USA).  That's because Gavin is on the other side of the world.  
 
Try scanning with TH with your computer booted into SAFE MODE and see if the trojan gets quarantined by TH.  Be sure to update your rulesets first and then run a full system scan.

Did you download the setup file from the official site(www.misec.net/www.trojanhunter.com)? You shouldn't get the message "Authorization failed", instead you should get a message saying that LiveUpdate is disabled in the trial version.
 
If you can, please post the scan report/cleaning log from TrojanHunter.
