These are not trojans but i cannot find the files to remove them so they are not part of the scan.

Welcome to the forum Arnham  Wink

This is your desktop Recycle Bin (Trash Can).

0.  Empty your Recycle Bin

1.  Be sure that TH scanner GUI is closed down.

2.  Search for the file named TreeStat.dat and delete it.

3.  Open the TH scanner GUI.  This will rebuild TreeStat.dat

Do you still get these directory error messages?

Thanks Siliconman,

Actually, this is not my Desptop Recycle Bin. That was the first thing I checked and it was empty. These files are all from my ITUNES muscis folder which had to be re-built when changing computers. i suspect these are files that got hung up somewhere in limbo when they were deleted but TH is still trying to scan them-hence the "Directory not found" errors. I've also scanned with my registry cleaner to no avail. Any other ideas? i can't attach the entire log but I've added a few which give you an idea of that is showing up.

Try this:

1.  Open TH scanner GUI

2.  Click on the SCAN icon on the left icon bar.

3.  Check mark Only the C: drive.  Be sure everything else is unchecked.

4.  Run a Quick Scan?  Do these errors occur?

5.  Run a Full scan?  Do these errors occur?

The other possibility is that you have a corrupted archival file on your disk which is throwing TH for a loop.

Running a CHKDSK /r /f might fix this.

Hi SiliconMan,

Thanks. I did as you suggested with running just the Quick Scan on my C:drive. The errors did not appear. I then unchecked the C:drive and ran the Quick Scan on my back up drive (dSmiley, again, no errors so I agree it might be a corrupted file somewhere. I think it's probably a copy of the ITUNES folder that had to be rebuilt. So, the original folder with all of these files is probably still somewhere and as you said "corrupted". I'm running Vista Home Premium, will running  CHKDSK /r /f  from a command prompt work on my version of Vista? Should I do this in Safe Mode? Thanks again.

Yes, it works on Vista

1.  Go to START>RUN and type in   chkdsk C: /r /f
(Note the space before /r and before /f )

2.  Click on OK

A CMD window will open and ask you if you want to run chkdsk on your C drive on the next reboot.

3.  Type in Y  or Yes

4.  Type in exit to close the CMD window.

5.  Reboot

The disk checker will start before Windows loads.  It may take a while to complete the test depending on the size of your C drive.

Hmmm... This problem may be caused by junk in your system registry that needs to be cleaned out for Windows Explorer and other programs.  Do you have a registry cleaner third party program on your system such as jv16 Powertools, RegSupreme, or Ace Utilities?

If not, you can trial RegSupreme from the link below.  If my memory is correct, the Trial version has limitations of permitting you to delete only 15 bad registry entries at a time.  This means that it takes multiple runs to clean a dirty registry.  If you have never cleaned your registry, expect to see 1000+ bad registry keys on the first run.

http://www.macecraft.com/

BE SURE to create a System Restore point or system backup prior to running a registry cleaning program.

-  You can do a registry cleaning while running in Normal Mode.  You do not need to close down any specific programs.

-  Reboot your system after completing the registry cleaning.
