Did TH trial always prevented liveupdates?

A friend asked me about a recommendation for a Trojan scanner so I installed the trial version of TH only to find out that the updates are manual. Was this always the way with the TH trial or were the updates automatic during the trial period??

Yes, the Trial Version can only be updated manually and has been that way pretty much forever.  I don't know if Magnus plans to change this or not.
