TrojanHunter.exe build 962 available via LU

A new scanner executable has been released via LiveUpdate.
 
TrojanHunter.exe MD5: 6c31c51ae9a1d99bb0897bb1eec06149
 
This fixes a bug that would cause the scanner to hang on CAB files that spanned multiple volumes.

Hello Magnus,
 
There is still a problem with moving the EXE into the base directory on WinME. It stays in C:\Program Files\TrojanHunter 5.0\Tools\LiveUpdate\Temp. I have to manually move it.
 
No problems with the rules updates being moved, just the EXE.

I know, I've fixed the bug that causes this, but it requires a new version of LiveUpdate.exe. Unfortunately, LiveUpdate cannot update itself, so this will be fixed with the next full setup release. I plan to upload a new setup file sometime next week.

Just run LiveUpdate and it will download and install a new version of the scanner which should fix the problem.

Build 962 also stopped the warning message of  
 
Found NTFS alternate data stream attached to directory: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\TEMP:CB0AACC9:$DATA
 
since the release of Build 958
 
and two pre-processing error messages for remoting.dll that I always obtained on a scan since the release of V5.0 Beta 0.

I suspect that you are having the same issue as user dp who is on Windows ME as described in the above posts.  It will probably be fixed when Magnus issues a new full setup release sometime next week.
 
You might try this to see if it temporarily gets you on build 962.
 
Please try forcing a complete download of the updates (rulesets and program revisions)  
 
1.  Unload THGuard.exe from memory.  Be sure TrojanHunter scanner is closed down.  
 
2.  Using Windows Explorer, navigate to the RuleFiles folder at C:\Program Files\TrojanHunter 5.0\RuleFiles and open the folder.  
 
3.  Delete file  UpdateList.txt  
 
4.  Close Windows Explorer  
 
5.  Go to START>Programs>TrojanHunter and run LiveUpdate.  
 
LiveUpdate will download a complete RuleSets plus UnUpx.dll, THGuard.exe and TrojanHunter.exe  
 
6.  Open Windows Explorer again and navigate to C:\Program Files\TrojanHunter 5.0\Tools\LiveUpdate\Temp.  
 
-  Open the Temp folder.  
 
-  If files TrojanHunter.exe and THGuard.exe and UnUpx.dll are in the Temp folder, manually move them over into the parent folder of C:\Program Files\TrojanHunter 5.0 to replace previous versions.
 
7.  Close Windows Explorer
 
8.  Restart THGuard.exe
 
Do you now have Build 962?

siliconman01, Thank you very much.  That did the trick.  I found the files TrojanHunter.exe and THGuard.exe in the temp folder and moved them to the parent folder.  I did not find UnUpx.dll there.
 Cheesy I am now running build 962.

Keep an eye out for Magnus's post of a new build that has to be downloaded and installed manually.  It should fix your problem of LiveUpdate not working properly on your 98se system.
