TH version 5.0 Build 961 has been released.
 
You will get it via the internal updater.

+ Scanner is now multi-threaded, resulting in a much smoother interface and more responsiveness
+ Scanner can now scan inside CAB files
 
° Fixed bug causing right-click scanning to not be disabled even when you click the disable button
° Fixed bug where scheduled scan interval wasn't being displayed correctly on Schedule page
° Uninstaller now removes the scheduled tasks for Scanner and LiveUpdate, if they exist
° Progress bar became full before scan finished when scanning large folders; fixed.
° Bugfix: "Warn on runtime-packed files that cannot be unpacked" option didn't work
° Registry/memory items being scanned did not increase the "object count". Fixed.

Sorry to be a nuisance, but I'm afraid the right-click-scanning issue still hasn't gone away, at least not on my system (Vista Home Basic). Instead, I'm continuing to disable the context menu entry using a third-party program (ShellExView).

I have TH 5.0 Build 958. Where do I find the "internal updater"? If it is the same as LiveUpdate (which, by its description, is for the download of ruleset files only), then it is not working for me.

I still have build number 950 on a Win98se box.  Would this be normal for this old system or should I be able to get the newer builds? Roll Eyes

The new LiveUpdate is suppose to download program file updates as well as ruleset updates.  
 
Try this please-
 
Open TH scanner and run LiveUpdate from within TH scanner.
 
Does this permit the program updates to download/install?

I just ran LiveUpdate from within TH Scanner. The Scan Report said "Ruleset update 2007-10-18 successfully loaded". However, I am still on Build 958.

Just as a test, I completely removed TH from my system.  I downloaded a fresh setup of TH and installed it.
 
After installing my license file, I ran LiveUpdate.  
 
-  the latest rulesets were downloaded/installed
-  Build 961 of TH scanner was downloaded/installed
-  UnUpx.dll was downloaded and installed.
 
This is on Vista Business.

Please try forcing a complete download of the updates (rulesets and program revisions)
 
1.  Unload THGuard.exe from memory.  Be sure TrojanHunter scanner is closed down.
 
2.  Using Windows Explorer, navigate to the RuleFiles folder at C:\Program Files\TrojanHunter 5.0\RuleFiles and open the folder.
 
3.  Delete file  UpdateList.txt
 
4.  Close Windows Explorer
 
5.  Go to START>Programs>TrojanHunter and run LiveUpdate.
 
LiveUpdate will download a complete RuleSets plus UnUpx.dll, THGuard.exe and TrojanHunter.exe
 
6.  Restart THGuard.exe
 
7.  TrojanHunter.exe should now be Build 961

I just tried the European server and all program updates were properly downloaded from it at the same time as the rulesets were updated.
