Help: Slow closing of Trojan Hunter

Started a couple of weeks ago. Any time I have TH (ver 4.7, build 932) open and attempt to shut it down (all the possible ways--same result), it closes, but there is a pause of about 5 seconds before anything happens.
 
Finally I downloaded the latest installer, uninstalled TH (useing recommended procedure) and reinstalled TH. Note the downloaded installer was about .5 MB larger than the same installer saved on my disk from June?).  
 
Reinstalling TH DID NOT fix the problem, and no other apps do this. Recently upgraded ZAlarm Pro to version 7, but did not notice the TH problem then....and this seemed to predate the TH problem.
 
Any ideas on how to fix?

Are you getting tight on RAM since you upgrade to ZA Pro V7.0?  
 
I assume that you have done such things as:
 
-  Clean/Compact Registry
-  Used CCleaner or equiv to clean out junk
-  Defragged
 
Just for info, on my Dell XPS 410, Dual Core, 2.6 ghertz, with 4 gbytes RAM and Vista Premium, when I open TH scanner the splash screen immediately appears.  However, it takes about 4 seconds to open the main TH window.  Closing it is immediate.

I have one GB of Ram on XP Pro, so memory is not an issue.
 
Dislkeeper defrages on a regular basis.
 
Run cccleaner once in a while, and RegSupreme regularly.
 
Just ran both, does not fix problem.

What happens if you temporarily disable ZA Pro totally..just as a test?  Perhaps you should enable Windows firewall before disabling the firewall component of ZA.  
 
From other forums, I read that several users of ZA Pro 7 were having problems with it.  I don't know if the issues have been cleared up because I did not follow the conversations in depth.
 
Also if you have THGuard self protection on, turn it off and see if that makes a difference.

What about if you open/close TH in SAFE MODE?  
 
Also you might try running a CHKDSK /r /f on your C drive.  Perhaps there is something corrupt on the hard drive that CHKDSK will fix.  Just a thought.

Tried the checkdisk, found no errors. Trying in safe mode might tell me if something was interacting with TH closing, but I have already shutdown everything I can think of that might be doing so....to no avail.  
 
Think I will just live with it at this point....unless we can find the problem.
