TH vs packaged trojans

Since I just started re-evaluating TH I'm impressed.  I have a few questions though.

1. How does TH do against packaged trojans?  Or is it reactive rather than proactive in its scanning?

What I mean by that is if there are torjans packed(of course they can't execute that way) then will TH see them?  Probably not...I read in the other thread that TH gets self-extracting zips, which is a plus and more important if the archived trojans can't activate themselves Wink

Hmmm, I'll have more questions but leave it at one for now. Cheesy, thanks.

If you open TH and look at Options, you'll notice that its default setting is to scan both zip-files and rar-files.  Whether it can scan inside any other type of compressed format, I don't know -- but apparently, it can scan zip and rar files.

Grin  Guess I'll just test myself.  Find some good trojans to test it on.  Thanks Randy, I have those options checked already.  As in the other thread though, a packed file within a p;acked file wasn't always detected, plus he changed filenames which made it even more complex. Smiley
