Manual Scan of Norton Recycle Bin

Hey guys, I think I answered my previous question for now, about TH scanning inside Norton's Protected Recycle Bin.  For all of you who have Norton Utilities or Norton SystemWorks installed on your system, with the Protected Recycle Bin activated, here's how to scan inside there:

All you need do is use the Start, Run dialog box:

(1) browse to your copy of TH and open that file in the dialog box.
(2) edit the entry and append the following: /scanfile c:\recycled.
(3) press enter and TH will proceed to scan inside the c:\recycled folder and all subdirectories, including the c:\recycled\nprotect folder where all the protected files for your c: drive are located.
(4) repeat this manual procedure for d:\recycled, e:\recycled, etc. -- for all of your local drives c:, d:, e:, etc.

That's all there is to it!!  And when you're done, TH will have scanned all the files in your Norton Protected Recycle Bin.  Here's an example scan from my system.  The Run dialog box contains the following:

"F:\Program Files\TrojanHunter 2.5\TrojanHunter.exe" /scanfile c:\recycled

will scan the c:\recycled folder and all subdirectories.  Note that TH is located on drive f: on my system.  I then just have to edit the entry in the Run dialog box, to scan my other local drives d:, e:, and f: -- easy as pie!!  Hope that proves helpful to some of you out there!!  You need to make sure your Norton Protected Recycle Bin is clean from trojans.

Nice find! Smiley   I just tested this to make absolutely sure there's no problem with detection (there shouldn't be therotically and isn't, but Murphy's law seems to kick in when you least expect it to so I made a point of verifying it). This will work very well until version 2.6 is out - see image below.
