A new ruleset update for TrojanHunter is available. The update contains 1959 detection rules.
 
The easiest way to install this ruleset update is to run the TrojanHunter LiveUpdate utility. If you want to install the update manually you can do so by downloading the file  
 
  http://www.mischel.dhs.org/rulefiles/25x-2002-02-10.zip  
   
and extracting its contents to the TrojanHunter program directory.
 
Note: This ruleset update requires TrojanHunter 2.5.

   LiveUpdate  is  not  working  again . Even with  the  new  liveupdate 252. zip  installed   I  have  the  ruleset 25x-2002-02-04  . No way to download  the  new one .

If you manually download the file  
 
  http://www.mischel.dhs.org/rulefiles/thupdate.txt
 
and open it in Notepad, what does it say?
 
What I'm trying to find out here is if your ISP is using some sort of proxy that might be caching old versions of thupdate.txt

   When I clicked the link above the only thing that happened
  is  a  empty page  with  " 25x-2002-02-10 ". there is no file to download at this link .
    Perhaps  it will help you to know  that my other products are  live-updating normally .

Ok, that would indicate that the problem is with TrojanHunter LiveUpdate. I will take a close look at the code to see where the problem might be. (Your thupdate.txt in the TrojanHunter program directory is still reading "25x-2002-02-04", right?)

   I have liveupdated now and TH says : " 25x-2002-02-10 " &  "1959 rules ". Everything  ok  with liveupdate  .

It sounds to me like you are getting intermittent failures - sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Is this correct? If so, are you getting the same error message (about already having the latest update installed) all the time or do the error messages differ?
 
It would be logical that LiveUpdate may have failed while there were network problems here this weekend, but that still shouldn't give you an error message about already having the latest update installed.

   Magnus ,
    Every liveupdate I tried since TH installation have failled and the message was ever the same " you have the last update installed..." . There was a time( when I tried to update the next day) that the "liveupdate" did work by itself . All the other times you have to help me with a solution .So I think that it is not  intermittent  but an almost permanent issue , isn't it ?

Next time you update TrojanHunter (there will be an update released later today), run LiveUpdate with the "/debug" command line parameter. You can do this by opening an MS-DOS prompt (Command Prompt) and changing to the TrojanHunter\Tools\LiveUpdate directory. Once there, Type "LiveUpdate /debug". This should generate a file called LiveUpdate.log in your LiveUpdate directory. Send this file to support@trojanhunter.com and I'll take a look at it to determine what the problem is.

   One more time I could not do the last liveupdate (25x-2002-02-13 ) . My OS  is W.XP ( home edition) and , as I have said before , all my  other products do liveupdates normally .
   I have to say  to  you  that I should never be a beta-tester because I do not have  computer knowledge , do not understand or use DOS  and never touch the Windows registry .
   Well , does not exist a more confortable way to solve this problem ?

Did you try what I suggested above?
 
If you've installed TrojanHunter in the default location then simply click Start|Run... and then type
 
  C:\Program Files\TrojanHunter\Tools\LiveUpdate\LiveUpdate.exe /debug
 
Then mail the LiveUpdate.log file to me. (It will be in the Tools\LiveUpdate directory.)

  I have tried "C:\ ... " 3 times and it says " Windows can't find ... " . In Windows Explorer TH is ok --- default location  with all directories and files .
   I  really  can't understand what is happening when I use Start/Run . And of course I have also check to see if I have typed exactly what you have said .

Ok, what is the exact location of LiveUpdate.exe on your machine? Use Start|Search|Files or Folders... to search for "LiveUpdate.exe" if necessary.
