A new ruleset update for TrojanHunter is available. The update contains 1920 detection rules.
 
The easiest way to install this ruleset update is to run the TrojanHunter LiveUpdate utility. If you want to install the update manually you can do so by downloading the file  
 
  http://www.mischel.dhs.org/rulefiles/25x-2002-01-31.zip  
   
and extracting its contents to the TrojanHunter program directory.
 
Note: This ruleset update requires TrojanHunter 2.5.

Using TH and THG 2.51
Since downloading 2000-1-31 using liveupdate, the Guard will not run. It attempts to load and then exits.
 
No error messages.
 
TH works OK and displays correct update data.
 
Downloading 2.52 now. Will install and see what happens or if THG then works.

Installed TH 2.52
THGuard now working with downloads 2002-1-24
Did a liveupdate and both TH and THGuard functioning fine with 2001-1-31.
 
Suspect a bad download or update install.
 
Point ... if an update fails, you can't update over it because of dates. Only solution seems to be re-installing ( to get an older ruleset) and trying update a second time.

What you can actually do is open up the file "thupdate.txt" (residing in the TrojanHunter program directory) in Notepad and manually set the date back to something earlier than the latest update and that will make LiveUpdate download and install the latest update anyway.
 
Example: You want to do an update again even though you have the latest update (25x-2002-01-31) installed, so you open up thupdate.txt in Notepad, set the string to "25x-2002-01-30" and finally save the file. When you start LiveUpdate it should now download the latest update anyway, thinking you have an update dated 2002-01-30 installed.
