Trojan Hunterguard  Beta 2.5 stopped opening

I cannot get TH_Guard to open up on my machine,  first it wouldn't put up the protection and now it won't run at all even though it is in the registry.  I am going to try a removal and reinstall.

WinME, IE6, ZAP, and NAV2002

Update:  Removal and Reinstalled Worked but I still have the earlier problem with TH_Guard not being shutdown protected.

Ok, I'll take a look at the shutdown protection feature in the 2.5 Guard to see what's causing it to misbehave.

I've something similar, neither TH nor TH Guard now running because 'This Beta version has expired' (message window on running TH from Start Menu). LiveUpdate.ini patched as required, but now I'm back to '0' trojans in definition file! Just got back after a few days, so I can't say if it's the new year or anything date related. Is TH2.5b2 time-limited?

Follow-up.
I did a full uninstall and reinstall, copied my key and LiveUpdate.ini, but I get and access violation message and then the one about this beta version having expired. TH Guard seems to be running at the moment, but the LiveUpdate still reported '0' trojan definitions in the latest ruleset.

Sorry, I'll get there in the end...

That access violation is 0044B2E2 in TROJANHUNTER.EXE. Address FFFFFFFF.

Repeated the process with a full power-off in between. Same results  Sad

Hi!

Beta 2 had a hard-coded time-limit set to January 1st. The next beta will be out shortly though, so there's no need to worry about not having anything to play with Wink

Yikes!!!! Grin

TH Guard is still running on my PC, and although the LiveUpdate looks like it has failed, the files are correct and have the Trojan info in them (i.e. are not '0' in content, just in what LiveUpdate reports). The report system probably relies on TH running in the background (not just Guard) to finish generating the right number of reported definitions in LiveUpdate. If TH Guard is up and running on your PC, I suspect you aren't as naked as it seems...
