TrojanHunter 2.5 Beta 2 Released!

TrojanHunter 2.5 Beta 2 has been released. It fixes the following problems:
 
- "Trojans.trf not found" bug SHOULD be fixed. If not, let me know
- TrojanHunter Web Page menu option now works
- Advanced Workspace Mode setting now remembered
- Fixed size of "Custom Scan" button.
 
The following are still "issues"
 
- Process Viewer (not ready yet)
- MemString acting funny on Windows 98
- Window sizes on systems with large fonts

Yes, that's stopped the trojans file problem. Advanced mode still not remembered on this w98se system... Did a full unistall and reinstall since that worked better with Beta1. The LiveUpdate file now reports correctly - 621 trojans instead of 0 (phew!). Still very quick, both loading and running compared to v2  Wink
 
FWIW I noticed the 'Automatically remove trojans' option in TH Guard has unchecked itself after a reboot - is it supposed to?

That's odd... what happens if you manually open TrojanHunter.ini in notepad and change [Visual], AdvancedMode to "1"?

Hm... if you install Beta 2 in a new directory, does it still behave the same way? (Or did you already do that?)

Total scan in about 7 min, which is good.
Total number of files scanned unknown as no counters are kept.

I uninstalled Beta 1, then deleted the folder, then did an install of Beta 2, followed by the LiveUpdate. Roll Eyes

You can install over Beta 1. Best thing to do is probably to delete all the files/folders in the Beta 1 directory and then install into that.

The Advanced mode bug isn't occuring here, but I think I may have fixed it when fixing the splash-screen-still-showing-up bug.

watchdog.exe

What is watchdog.exe?  Does it belong in
the TH folder?  Is it supposed to create
randomly named .exe files in c:\windows\temp?
 
If its part of TH what security level should I give
it in my Tiny TrojanTrap program?
 
Excuse my lack of knowledge, trying to learn about
this stuff.  Downloading beta2 now. thanks.

It's there to "watch" TrojanHunter Guard and alert you if it gets shut down. (If that happens, you will get a message box asking you if you want to restart the Guard.)
