Thanks for the welcome Jerry, I can see clearly now... what the problem was - between Moz and proxo I had nothing coming through - coming back tonight with opera I must say this is pretty nice.  Smiley

Nope, that didn't work. Oh well, at least this helping me nudge to ending my reign as the longest-serving newbie on the board.  Grin

Longest serving active newbie - I think plenty of 'one-time' posters will be around for a while...

Regarding the 'font' thingy - stick your text between the "font=(whatever)" and "/font" tags. Watch out, though, because not all fonts are 'web safe', or on every PC...

If your system behaves like mine, this post has three fonts in it - Courier, Arial and Verdana (the default one)...

Thanks, Ian. I thought I had done that the first time I responded to redleg's post. The trouble with the "markup" used on these discussion boards is that each forum software seems to use slightly different versions of it. Life would be much easier if one could just use HTML.  Smiley

Although if HTML was allowed, it'd probably interfere with the web-based delivery. I read the YaBB documentation and judging by the comments about the YaBBCode, they assume we all know true HTML can't be used - they just made YaBBC look pretty similar (different brackets, a few same-ish command structures, and so on). I guess all web-based BBS systems would have this limitation, but it works well enough!

You're right of course, Ian. I don't really mind the BBS markup codes, it's just that each version is slightly diffeent, and my poor neurons, both of them, get very tired trying to keep them straight, remembering which board uses which code.  Grin

"Be a star in but one firmament - in others provide the background light."

And you can quote me on that... (since I don't think anyone said it before me just then). I give my braincell light duties by using text-based news servers and BBS's for everything else, apart from Becky's where I just stick to standard everything. Grin

Corrected the 'brewing' typo in the quote... which must now also count as one of the longest times from original post to edit....
