Well it's the time of year again to look back and think of some of the memorable moments - here are a few for me. Usain Bolt in Beijing - what a phenomenal athlete! And it was so great to see Jamaica obliterate all the sprint world records in such style. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/olympics/athletics/7579888.stm Also I loved this BBC video montage of Bolt's 100 and 200 metre races, superbly set to the absolute classic hip-hop cut "Follow the Leader" by Eric B & Rakim - almost worth my licence fee alone! The BBC has its flaws but its output is generally a hundred times better than any other broadcaster I know of. All we need now is some decent test cricket coverage ... Speaking of Jamaica, one of the first things I did when I got broadband this year (after downloading TH updates in nanoseconds of course!) was to check out YouTube for the music of the legendary Burning Spear (aka Winston Rodney) and I was overjoyed to be able to listen to the pure roots sound of this live performance of "Foggy Road" - http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=t7ytBZwbJNk As Burning Spear says in the song, which is perhaps a message for our times - "My way is long, for the road is so foggy, yes; But my head never swells, my heart never leaps, I never have no fear from within." And finally, coming back to England, mostly damp and foggy though it is at the moment instead of crisp and frosty for Christmas, I just enjoyed being out and about in the quiet countryside when I got the chance.
