Can't remember where I read it, but apparently death, divorce, moving house, changing job and new children feature high in the top 10 of 'things that cause stress'.

Well, I'm still alive, and #2 isn't going to happen. I'm about to move house because of a new job - I'm now in the management of a successful school in a different UK authority area, which either means a 200-mile daily commute (about a grand a month on fuel) or trying to sell a house in a market that's flatter than the Netherlands. Fingers crossed, we'll be done by Christmas - the job has already started in September and is going well.

And the other reason? Hannah was born last Thursday, which makes three.

Ian!

It's so nice to see you back. Congratulations on the little one. You should consider moving to London. No 200-mile commute - just the hot, overpacked tube where you have to elbow your way through the masses to get a chance at catching a train during rush hour. Wink

LOL! Done the London thing, Magnus - got family down in Pimlico, my sister lived in Catford, and I also do occasional exam marking work so see a lot of Kings X, Russell Square and the area around Vauxhall Bridge (on a strictly need-to-know basis Cool Shocked). In fact, I've an Oyster card (unregistered, of course) for tube travel etc in my wallet at all time, though that's more to do with me being tight and Oyster giving twice the journeys for the same cash!

And while the commute might not be 200 miles long in London, it'll take about the same time... traffic does tend to move aside now I've got blue strobes behind the grille Roll Eyes Wink Mind you, where I'm going up in County Durham, because of the death of traditional stuff like mining and steel production, whole towns literally get up, get in their cars and drive elsewhere to go to work each morning. Very odd.

House all but sold, Claire - just the actual contracts to sign, which should be done by end of Nov, and moving by sometime around the week before Christmas. How's it all going with you?
