Does anyone know what i386 file is on my hard drive it has 6,600 objects and not sure if they are ok to remove

Many thanks for your reply- best leave it where it is lol I seem to be having so many popups and spam mails despite having noadaware AVG and Adware so I thought I would do a clean up

go to castlecops and get the system analyzed by a hijack specialist to see what's going on with your machine.

you may have a BUG on the machine that is controlling things.

and go to the hijackthis forum and read all of the particular instructions on how to post a hjk log.
 
if it is not in the correct forum, it probably won't get a reply ,
so be careful where you post the request to review the log.

thanks again, I have my pop up blocker on medium and have downloaded the cleaner after going to control panel and altering the view tab for hidden folders just unsure how to use the cleaner without it cleaning the registry?

The registry cleaner of CCleaner is the Issues icon on the left side icon bar of CCleaner.  Just don't use the Issues component of CCleaner and your registry will not be messed with by CCleaner.
 
Use only the Cleaner component.
