I wouldn't presume to argue with those megastar physicists but I thought that vacuum energy is established beyond doubt, e.g the Casimir effect discovered in 1948 -

I heard of an inventor who's set up a company to develop devices to run on vacuum energy - if he makes it happen then he'll be a rather rich man! ... plus fossil fuels are going to become somewhat irrelevant ... though you can't beat the ambience of a good log fire Smiley
