ComputerCops promotes Trojan Hunter as one of the quality products to answer the Trojan Question, so they have good taste and are smart Cheesy   Their website is available at http://www.computercops.biz  Lots of helpful news and many interesting things about computer security can be had there. Cool

Remember an exploit is not the same as a useful method to bypass security, some exploits are useful and some are not.  Sooner or later it is easier to look at all of these security holes, just remember that to be forewarned is better than being too late.

Jamming, good advice.

However, to do what you suggest--& do so properly--can be, and is, very time consuming. Thus, for many, not always a practical option--though I absolutely agree with you!

Understood Walter, that is one reason that I do kind of lean on other people I trust, if they tell me to worry about things then I figure they had the time to figure it out.  People like Jason Levine, Magnus, Paul/X-J, even some of the people here but I won't name names because their heads would swell up from their ego's.  I do think that to go it alone is somewhat silly, but many people do so.  There are enough real threats out there that I don't understand not working together on solving them.

Jamming,

Your comment of "leaning" on other people is well taken--and necessary due to the amazing complexity of the technology we use.

In the spirit of seeking out & relying on trustworthy, knowledgeable people, would mind telling me where those people hang out?  The ones you listed in your post.

Some of the names I recognize: Magnus (obviously), and Paul (usually over at Wilders, correct?). And, is Paul's "user name," X-J?  Is that the meaning of Paul/X-J?  Or, is X-J someone else?

But I don't recognize the other name. Jason Levine. What forum does he typically inhabit?

Dont worry about naming people here you sometimes rely on. Yes, you are right. If you did so, indeed, I would get a big head!!  Grin  Cool
