Does THG scan a program before it has started running? I remember testing it a while ago and it would scan every 5 secs or something instead of when i start a program.

Also does it protect against all malware like keyloggers, rootkits etc.

The current version of THGuard polls memory every 10 seconds, scanning memory modules for infections.  It does not scan a program as it is loading into memory.

Yes, hundreds and hundreds of them.  Gavin adds detection rules daily and works hard to keep ahead of the Internet criminals.  Wink

Wouldn't it be safer to scan memory of loading programs before they load? What if there's malware that can't be removed?

I could not agree more.  However, implementing such a technique is quite difficult because it means intercepting elements within Windows...deep in Windows.  Magnus has been working on this for some time.  I do not know if it will be a feature in TH V5.0 which is under development as we speak.
