Trojan Guard and the Scanner???

i have been reading the threads on trojan guard and have always simply used the scanner and now with the latest updated version i have trojan guard in my task bar.
 
I am not knowledgeable enough about this option and wondered if there is a Link for me to read and see if this option is what i want in my task bar.
This time when I D/L the latest version it just popped up in my task bar and so I must have clicked on something.
I really am unclear about the option except that i believe it is supposed to be real time?
Sorry for my noobiness, but i really like to understand applications when they run on the computer.
I look forward to replies.
 
For example, when the scanner is updated is Trojan Guard??
 
Since I did not use it before I am not sure if I want to use it now.

Open TH and select the help file. The help file has some info on TH Guard

Yes, THGuard is updated each time a LiveUpdate is received.
 
Running without THGuard active as your real-time monitor is like having a home/house security system that is always turned off.  The burgular gets in and steals your computer goodies and you do not realize it until you happen on it during a scan.

Reply is right on!!! That is what I was looking for exactly!
I like to read, the Help file I had already viewed and gleaned some info there however this last post and Link were excellent and that type of a Quality reply from a Mod and good Admin makes for an Excellent Forum!!!
And sells the par excellence product!!!

Siliconman, Magnus, IMHO, the contents of this link should be added to the FAQ and also to the TH help file. It fills in information that is not in the help file or is not now correct in the help file...
