THGuard not working with Limited Account

4.5 does not work under Limited User account. 4.2 worked fine. Have tried this with 2 different PC's 1= XP Home Other= XP Media Center Edition 2005.

The only way I can get it to run is to use the "run as" command and run it as admin.

Have you checked the permissions of the folder? I suspect TH wants to write to a file in the program folder but cannot due to permissions.

Mind you, this is a wild guess as I have not yet upgraded to 4.5. I manage multiple computers where the users have limited accounts and see this type of stuff a lot.

I was thinking the same thing MadAxe, I bet it is a permissions issue. You know, please forgive me for saying this but I have always felt the permissions issues in XP are a pain in the butt; even very highly tested programs like Norton AV will have these permissions issues for limited accts, I can sympathize with developers trying to accommodate this .. hope the problem gets resolved soon .. Wink

I know this doesn't help right at the immediate moment as far as solving the issue; however, I think this is something that Magnus will have to fix in V4.5 at the programming and installer level. It appears that something has been set up wrong for this new version for Limited Accounts.

Please bear with us... things appear to be bit hectic right at the moment for the team at the home office. I suspect email responses to change-of-email-addresses is consuming a lot of manhours Wink

I fired off another email to Support about this problem; hope y'all can be patient, sorry for the trouble .. the report that the Guard isn't working on some systems even with Admin rights is even more mysterious ..

Was there a solution to the limited account problem? Every time I reboot it gives a error on limited accounts and shows as a trial version. Everything works fine when logged as admin.
