i am running outpost pro and everytime i boot i get a message saying trojan hunter/thsec.dll has changed

then options

1 update info on shared component
2 make component shared
3 block

i always chose to update info, should i make it shared?
wot exactly does this message mean and why does it change on every boot?

are there any recommended settings for my setup to stop this message from appearing?

also should i allow thguard to alter memory processes of other progs?

thanks

I'm not familiar with Outpost and how it works so I cannot provide any guidance concerning its settings.   Sad

THGuard does do injection and needs to be able to do this, so the answer is Yes.

I'll email Magnus and see if he will jump in on this thread.  He might know what the workings of Outpost are.

thanks for your reply siliconman i realised this is was not purely a TH question so had a look around

i discovered that there is noway in Outpost to stop the popup for thsec.dll at startup because it constantly changes. the suggestion has been to rename it to disablethsec.dll and use process guard ;is this recommedded? will i be more vulnerable if i do?

tnx for info on THG i will implement

No, you will not be less vulnerable by using PG.  The purpose of THSEC.DLL is to protect THGuard.exe from being maliciously terminated.  PG will do the same thing for you.  So you "quite fine" with PG.   Wink
