Is it best to check the "Automatically Remove Trojans" on the Settings options or is it better to have some control in case there are false positives?

Thank you.

My belief is that it depends on how you use your computer.  If you have a cable/dsl modem setup that is always connected to the Internet and you leave the computer unattended much of the time, then I would recommend automatic removal.  This would get rid of the memory attack promptly while you are not there.

Conversely if you are always at your computer when on the Internet, then manual mode seems more than adequate.

Keep in mind that if something turns out to be a false positive, all you need to do is remove the .tcf extension and the file is active again.
