site license for 2 ?
« on: Jun 24th, 2005, 2:23pm »

Question: I bought 2 Trojan Hunter Guard programs for my daughter and my pc's.  I also bought a site license for 2 at the same time.  Can I put my Trojan Hunter Guard on my husbands pc using my site license for 2?  I'm not quite sure how that works, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

Kathy

If I understand you correctly, you paid $89 for a 2 site license.  Is that all you paid for?

If so, then it means you may run TH on only 2 computers.  You would need an additional site license for the 3rd computer.

I paid the full amount for TH for my pc, the full amount for TH for my daughters pc, and then paid an additional amount of $15 for a second site license.  I can only find half the paperwork, which is why I had asked this question in the first place, as I remember thinking at the time that I can use my TH on my husbands pc also when we finally get it up and running.  My THG says "site license for 2 users".  I don't want to use the CD on my husbands pc if I'm not suppose to.

Thank you,

Kathy

In addition, I just found some paperwork from Kagi, where I paid $49.00 for a license.  So I went through them via Wilders Security to purchase that.  Not sure if this additional info will help you any.

It certainly sounds as if you are legal to use TH on your husband's system.  Just for safety reasons, it is best to email Magnus (owner) at

Sales<at>misec.net

and explain your situation to him.  You could reference this forum thread as well.

Thank you Siliconman, I had e-mailed support (at) misec.net 3 days ago and still haven't heard back, so at least I now have another address to try.

I wrote to Magnus the day you gave me the information.  I still haven't heard back from him  Embarassed.  I'm going to be getting my husbands PC up and running tomorrow, so I'm going to go ahead and put it on it, and just hope I don't lose the program because I never got an answer  Undecided.

Don't worry, you sound perfectly justified to do that .. we will support you on this until/when/if Magnus can chime in with his official response.  Have a clean conscience, everyone should be as honest as you are.  Wink

Randy,

Thank you very much for your response.  I just really didn't want to wind up losing such a good program, so if anything happens, I just hope he winds up coming across my e-mail first.  Wink

siliconman01,

Thank you also for your response.  Both you and Randy make me feel quite a bit better about installing THG on my husbands computer.  Right now I'm just waiting for Comcast to show up so I can get him up and running with a firewall, AV, a couple spyware programs, and my favorite, THG  Cheesy

Kathyhl,

You might enjoy the little freebie program named CCLEANER to help you keep all the junk files cleaned out of your three(3) computers.  It can be downloaded at www.ccleaner.com.

It's easy to set up and runs on demand or scheduled.  Does an excellent job of cleanup, plus you can set up custom folders to clean if you have a need for that.

Have an enjoyable day!   Wink

A clean machine helps improve security too!  Grin

siliconman01, just got back into town today and read your e-mail.  Thank you for the information on CCleaner, as soon as I get everything done around here that wasn't done while I was gone, I'd really like to check on that  Wink
