I wasted hours today trying to fix a problem that wasn't really a problem. The ruleset and plugins menu were absent after I helped someone install TH 4.5.
 
The items were not there because the user had not selected Advanced mode in the view menu. While this may be an obvious thing to do, it was not to me.
 
And I am a VERY advanced user with among other things software integration experience at Intell and HP, and support experience with Microsoft during the Win 95 roleout, for example. So I should have figured this out, but missed it, so it aint obvious!
 
Suggestion: ALWAYS display the ruleset and plugins menus and do away with the View menu. I see no reason to confuse the issue by having to select Advanced mode from the view menu on a toggle.  
 
If one is trying to simplify things for novices I don't see it. All it does is confuse the issue. What is wrong with having the Rulsest and plugins always visible?
 
Once again this is NOT covered anywhere in the help file, which needs to be totally redone!
