Hi,

Since there are often several updates/day could the autoupdater check several times a day(like for instance with NOD updater
the user can choose the interval for checking updates(every hour, every three hours etc)

I don't see a good way to implement this in a space-saving and obvious way. If anyone has suggestions on ways to do this, feel free to post them. My reasoning is that putting this...

"Check for updates X times per day and update if there is a new update available"

...will confuse people and it will not allow them to set the exact time when the update check will happen. Remember that the Guard has limited GUI space to put the update input in.

Hi,

I don't see why ask the updater for instance to check every 3
hours for an update would confuse people.AV's users have this feature without any problem

But I agree the space issue might be a problem

But how do you combine the "Check for updates every X hours" with "Update at this specific time". Some users only have their computers/Internet connection on at certain times of the day so I really think you have to give users the option of setting the time when they want to run the updater.

Well,

Space permitting of course the autoupdater could have both options.

If the space issue is to difficult to solve let's leave the autoupdater as it is

Have a great day Magnus

How about having it try from startup, look for the first network connection available, use it to check for an update then wait a few hours (three?) to check again? Or it could wait an hour the first time if there's no update, then three (or a user defined number). The user time variable could be a place where the user puts in the earliest that LU should start looking, just in case they've managed to let TH create a dial-up connection without asking for user confirmation first.
