... to let us know if a custom user-supplied detection rule has been included in the next ruleset.

I know when the ruleset post lists the next batch of nasties detected you use 'Added' and 'Updated'. So how about 'Included' to indicate things like the Firewar rule or the SQL worm rule that had been previously loaded/imported by some users. Then users won't have to worry about trawling through what could be a very large number of posts in the 'Definitions' board to catch those extras they'd added!

And if those user-rules get quite numerous, but aren't included in the ruleset, how about a sticky post in the 'Definitions' board to list the user-rules available - this would just need updating whenever a new rule is posted (and checked out - otherwise some sort of disclaimer needs making about their use). Also, how about only registered users being permitted to post definitions to this board?

Okay, okay! Cheesy

So 1/3 of those things was discussed already... However, it'd still be handy to know which had been included in the official set.

I agree. It would be handy to know which definitions posted here I don't need to C&P into TH because of their having been already included in an update. Of course, Since most of us come here every day, we will probably get new def.s here before poor Magnus gets a chance to incorporate them into an update anyway.

I'll just turn up the wick on the coffee pot, then! I'm normally too worn out from school at the moment to be that on the ball!

PS: d'you think anyone will stop Arsenal this year? (I know it won't be my lot... even if they win everything left in the season, they won't have more than the top group have already scored. Sad )

The FA clash this weekend against Man. U is going to an absolute ripper! Their next head-to-head in the Premiership will decide the outcome, I feel certain. I am a little concerned at Arsenal's last two away games being draws, but hopefully they will be back on form now.

True, but I think Man.U are over-stretched at the moment, so Arsenal should prevail - Sir Alex was blagging on about them being 'fresher', but they've played something like 25 more matches in all competitions this season, so I'm not sure of his definition of 'fresh' - maybe they smell worse?? Grin

Anyway, it was always my opinion that Sunderland made the totally wrong choice with Sgt.Wilko after ditching Reidy - they shouldn't have even done that, but the best choice on offer was definitely David O'Leary, (they baulked on some nonsense about his book after Leeds fired him), and he would have retained Niall Quinn as player/coach as well - too many changes in the management have had a toll, I'm afraid.

Well, you were right - Giggs certainly smelled pretty bad for Man U. after missing an open goal. And The Gunners are still on for the treble! Grin

Yeah, and though the first goal was a pretty big deflection from Beckham, the second was class. I watched the match live on TV and thought it was a good game - even the first half scrapping, fouling and Oscar-winning tumbles were a laugh (at least they didn't continue like that beyond the first 5-10 minutes). ManU looked tired and their game didn't flow - too many passes to nowhere, or mis-reading where players were going.

Speaking of Beckham, I was flabbergasted to hear of Alex Ferguson (I will not dignify him with the undeserved honorific) and his latest outburst. How would he have explained away his actions if  that boot had broken Beckam's nose, or if one of its studs had hit Beckham in the eye? To quote from "Grail", "you stupid Scottish git!" I mean, I am not upset at Man. U's losing, but Ferguson's irrational behaviour is inexcusable.

Very bad form. I guess he's just angry and didn't think too far ahead when he 'kicked a ball and the boot came off his foot' - honest, guv'nor. Mind you, the front pages of the press (gutter and higher, so that's the Times upward, then...) have two main themes today - how the EU 'agrees' (yeah, right) on what to do about Iraq (this is all wordy stuff) and a HUGE picture of Beckham with his hair back in an Alice band and the stitches in full view. Glad we got the priorities right again, then - some stuff about possible death to thousands but look at Beckham's stitches. Not that I don't feel sorry for the overpaid football-playing clothes-horse - he IS a nice feller by all accounts - but it does seem a touch imbalanced...
