The second beta version of TrojanHunter 5.3 is now available. This beta fixes problems reported with the first beta.

Download: http://www.misec.net/beta/TrojanHunterSetup530B2.exe

List of changes since the latest official release (5.2.992):

  • Improved bug reporting
  • Fixed a problem where the presence of NTFS alternate data streams attached to directories was not being reported
  • Improved deletion of alternate data streams (now correctly removes directories and is also  able to delete specific alternate data streams as opposed to all alternate data streams associated  with a file)
  • THCL: Now states "No trojans found" or "%d trojans found" in scan report
  • THCL: Copyright year updated
  • Fixed bug causing exception if scanner was closed when a right-click scan was running
  • Added "A scan is running. Exit anyway?" confirmation if user tries to close scanner when a scan  is running.
  • Fixed bug where TrojanHunter was not scanning shortcut files correctly when doing a right-click scan.
  • Fixed problem with right-click scanning RAR files not working

Ok,
This latest update didn't change anything as far as the listing of executables with double extensions.

PAN_IRISH,

Can you briefly explain what "executables with double extensions" issue you are having?

5.3 Beta 1 lists the executables with double extensions;
5.3 beta 2 doesnot/willnot list them.

5.3;It will list ADS,Alternate Data Streams and I can remove those.

Hmmmm.. here is what I am seeing on Windows 7 x64 and Windows 7 x86 with TH V5.3.994 Beta 2.

1.  It does not log the executables with double extensions.... a new bug.  I'll create a new bug post down in the Bug section of the forum for Magnus to review.

2.  It logs and removes the ADS on directories, but does not log the ADS for individual files anymore.  I posted this down in the Bug section of the forum.
