TrojanHunter 4.5Beta 1 Problems

The download and install went okay.

However, the License.tlf did not automatically install.  When I double clicked on it, it did not find a .tlf extension and wanted to know how I wanted to open the file.  I selected the chose a program option and selected TH scanner for that program.  TH scanner 4.5 opened but I had to manually enter the license code from the email (Outlook 2003).

In opening TH scanner after the license, I get a message that my subscription has expired and a link for Kagi.  Do I need to pay the subscription fee now?

The incremental update worked great!

TH is running full scan now  Wink

Hm... did you try to open the license file before or after you ran the setup file?

 Hello   ,

I  had  the  same  problems  with  the  .tlf  file so  I  decided  to  use  the  serial number  I've received  and  TH Beta is registerd  now ( manual registration ) .

  Issues  :

- When   I  open TH Scanner   there  is  a " Subscription Expired "  message  ,  but  my  name  is  correct  at  the  " About  "  window .

- With  quick-scan  or  full-scan  appears  a  lot  messages  "  Error  :  Unable  to load  Gen.dll " , just  after  the  file scan  starts . This  message  also  appears  with  a  simple  right-ckick  scan .

XP Home SP-2  /  Cable  Connection

mozar,

What is the "Rule file directory setting" on the options page in your scanner?

V4.5 Beta 1 was installed at the time.

I tried it two ways.

1.  I saved the License.tlf file to my hard drive.  TH V4.5 was installed.  I doubled clicked on License.tlf and the Windows type message opened wanting to know how to open the file.

2.  From MS Office Outlook 2003, I double clicked license attachment and selected Open.  The same results...it did not know what to use to install it with.

This is on Windows XP-SP2.

The Full Scan went well and fast.   Cheesy

  Magnus  ,  it  is  the  correct  path  I  think  ,  at   TH's Directory  (  C:\Program Files\Trojan Hunter 4.5 ) .

Now as for that GEN.DLL problem, I saw that too when we first started testing it, GEN.DLL was in the wrong folder. It should be in RULEFILES dir, and thats where the option Magnus refers to, should also point so it can be loaded from there.

If you installed over an old TH to the same folder I guess that could cause it ?

Change that to C:\Program Files\Trojan Hunter 4.5\RuleFiles

And you'll be set !

Perhaps you (mozar) downloaded before Magnus fixed this issue, you must have been one of only 2 or 3 (and I was one !) Grin

In TH Scanner-Tools-Autostart Explorer, nothing displays when clicking on this tool.  The mouse pointer goes busy for a couple of seconds, but then nothing happens.

All other tools report properly.  Also the plug-ins appear to functioning.

Hmm worked for me, the exectuable tried to start anyway. Then I got an error :

Task Scheduler could not be loaded. Make sure it is installed correctly.

Clicking OK and the program runs, but immediately gives access violation at address 00496B82 in module "AutostartExplorer.exe". Read address of 00000000.

Program stays alive, but clicking anything on the left gives the above error again Wink started Task Scheduler and away it goes, works perfectly Smiley

 Gavin  and  siliconman01  ,

The  " \RulesFiles"  path  didn't  fix  it  , the   error is   still  there  .

And  ,  yes  , probably  I  was  one  of  the  first  downloading  this  new  Beta .  I'll  uninstall that one I'm using  and  download  and  install a  fresh  TH Beta .
Not  too  much  scientific approach  but  it  did  work  in the past  Smiley
