TrojanHunter 4.5 Beta 1 Released!

The first beta version of TrojanHunter 4.5 is now available for testing!
 
To install the beta, follow these steps:
 
1. Download and run the setup file from http://www.misec.net/beta/TrojanHunter45Beta1.exe
 
2. Have your license filed emailed to you at http://www.misec.net/trojanhunter/licensefile/ (Note: This is not the same page as the license file retrieval page for the old version. Your old license file will not work with TrojanHunter 4.5)
 
3. Please test the new license file installation system by double-clicking the License.tlf file attachment in the email you receive. If you have installed version 4.5 then the license should automatically be installed and the program should switch to licensed mode without you having to restart it.
 
If your email client blocks the attachment or you are otherwise unable to open it, please post about this here as we'd like to know which email programs could potentially cause problems with the license email.
 
4. Run LiveUpdate. The big new feature in TrojanHunter 4.5 is incremental updates. LiveUpdate should only download and install the file ACumulative.trf.
 
That's it! Please report all bugs, issues, problems etc. here as usual.

Can you tell us what other "new" or "revised" items to thoroughly exercise and watch out for in V4.5 Beta 1 other than the License.tlf and Incremental Update feature (which is an awesome improvement    Wink )

Installed with no problems.  License arrived in my mailbox almost instantly. Double clicking on the license file produced the, you need to create file association error.  Used the License File Installation Utility, copy and paste authorization code then select install. Worked on the second try after giving permission to access the internet, no problems. The first time I had my firewall blocking traffic when I hit install, oops my fault.  Updated, no problem.  Autostart Explorer not working, I replaced the AutostartExplorer.exe with the one in the stand alone utility and it now works through the tools menu on TH 4.5.  Looks good to me. Thanks.

No, you should let the Beta 1 install in its default folder of C:\Program Files\TrojanHunter 4.5.

The THGuard can now be killed by ending the process with task manager, is it going to stay this way?

Disabled at the moment. An option for self protection with a warning is best, since Outpost for example blocked THSEC.DLL and caused every process on my machine to crash ! not really a good start when installed on a users machine Grin

Shutdown protection is going to be a user-selectable option in 4.5 and will be off by default.
