The majority of viruses are coming through the network; however, we are still using file antivirus scanners. Manually, by a scheduler or by a file operation monitor, catching file open/read/write, we prefer to overload the CPU with repeated wasting file scans.
Furthermore, all these strategies presume that the potentially infected files are already
on the disk and already could hurt you.
The new technology allows you to block viruses directly inside windows network subsystem, transparently and independently of the application’s type, and so do not pass them to the disk.
