Welcome to the forum roybjr  Wink

There is nothing malicious showing up in your Hijackthis log.  There is one item that can be fixed, but it is not causing the redirect.

1.  Run another scan with HJT.  When the scan is completed, place a check mark in the box next to the entry below.  BE SURE that this is the only entry check marked.

O2 - BHO: (no name) - {5C255C8A-E604-49b4-9D64-90988571CECB} - (no file)

2.  Close your browser

3.  Click on Fix Checked at the lower left of the HJT window.  Confirm that you want to fix this item and let HJT fix it.

4.  Close HJT.

Do you get the redirect problem if you run IE8?  Or is it strictly a FireFox issue?

Have you checked your HOSTS file in the C:\System32\drivers\etc folder?

-  Open the HOSTS file with Notepad.
-  The first "operational" entry should be 127.0.0.1   localhost and the next entry should be ::1  localhost.  All remaining entries should start with 127.0.0.1
NOTE: lines starting with # are comments and are not operational.

I see that you are running Avast and MBAM.  Have you updated their definitions and run a FULL scan of your system with each of these security programs?  Do they scan clean?

Also perform an online scan with SuperAntiSpyware Online scanner located at the link below.

http://www.superantispyware.com/onlinescan.html

Please post back here the scan logs of MBAM and SuperAntispyware.

Hii,
I think you shud block the pop-ups  but this also will not solve the problem completely as it may not block all the pop-ups.And yes pop-ups can also make u install spywares accidentally. so u need some gud antispyware along with
blocking the pop-ups.I have 1 good application installed on my system Advanced System Protector , it not only blocks the spyware b4 it can enter your system, and will also clean the infections if any and it gives routine updates of the latest definitions and is very easy to use..
The On Execution Scanner & Alert Shields make it more efficient in the case of internet access.
 give a try..
free version of ASP is also available at cnet

I would like to add that I had this same virus, but nothing showed up in the log files either. It was very strange and then it got out of hand. I'm not sure if it was a collection of things or what, but it somehow spread across my network and trigger the same problems on 3 of my machines.

It caused it so that I could not use my antivirus software or install programs to help defeat the problem, but the main thing is that all of my issues started out with the symptoms of this redirect virus and it was extremely hard to get rid of!

I finally did, but I'm not sure how it was done. It just seemed to go away after a lot of scanning?
