Browsers wont load page but everything else connec

Iv gotten a pesky worm or some spam program and than had it removed with another program that searched it and got rid of it nicely. After that I think there’s something wrong with browsers since they don't load any pages but only in safe mode they do. Everything else such as streaming P2P programs seem to work. I tried both Explorer and FireFox.

Didnt help, Im in safe mode and the only way to use web browsing, not in normal mode.

What is the name of the security program that removed the malware from your system?  It has obviously had to remove something that adversely affected browsing.  What was the name of the worm or whatever that it removed?  And what version of Windows are you running?

Try this:  Rightclick on the desktop Internet Explorer icon and select Properties - select the Programs tab and then click "Reset Web Settings".  Or if you are using IE7, go to the Control Panel, open Internet Options, select the Advanced tab, then Reset Internet Explorer settings.
 
 
Did you try to do a System Restore back to a point prior to getting the worm or whatever?
 
Did you try to do a Scannow as per the instructions on the link below?

I did not has System Restore On during infection and removal. Plus during removal it was suggested to keep i toff, so System Restore wouldn't play much of a part here since I dought itl have a previous good time to restore to.
 
The removal program I used was Smitfraudfix.

The infection was "SpyGuard" that was installed through ActiveX maybe or Explorer at least from some website.
So Im not sure if its Port 80 or what thats blocked...
Just browsing wont load pages, cuz its waiting for a reply...
Other connections seem fine.
I un-installed MCAfee's SecurityCentre Firewall and no help.
I tried LSPFix, but no difference.
Only Safe Mode can browse pages.

I did ScanNow "sfc /scannow" in safe mode....then restarted in normal mode.
THAN...MSN connected and BROWSERS BACK UP LOADING Smiley
It looks like it works now! Thankyou!

You should go to Windows Update and check for any updates that may be needed....just to make sure that everything in Windows is up-to-date for security reasons.

Ok will try.
Before I had issues not getting updates downloading but failing when using Windows Update.  
I think i twas because of not enough disk space...but maybe if I have enough now maybe it'l work.

Remember, Windows Update requires that ActiveX be present.  So you need to use Internet Explorer...not FireFox...for Windows Update.  If you have ActiveX turned off in IE, then you can add http://*.microsoft.com to your trusted sites zone.  That will permit ActiveX to be installed for Windows Update.
 
Also, you might free up a lot of disk space by downloading/installing CCLEANER.  It cleans out a LOT of junk and temp files.

weird, it searches the updates I need, but when clicking to download/install all of them...they all fail.
