malware posing as spyware security

I was stupid enough to install some media-codec.com codec via some shady porn site and it installed two very anoying applications.
They have lodged themselves into my system tray constantly popping up telling me my computer is not safe from spyware or popups. On top of that, they themselves launch popup ads.
I have tried running my spybot and it did detect and delete part of the programs but they are still running.
One program is Spyfalcon and the other simply calls itself system alert, but when you double click on the system tray Icon it launches the malwarewipe.com website.

Can someone please tell me how to get rid of these programs, I can't find their root folders anywhere.

Ps.
I'm not really sure if this falls under the malware catagory (I didn't call myself Noobman for nothing) so apologies in advance if this is posted on the wrong board.

Welcome to the forum noobman,  Cheesy

The link below provides very good, detailed instructions on how to remove Spyfalcon.

The security alert is probably part of this intruder.  Let us know how you make out.  Wink
