Some adware shortcuts on desktop

Hi

Yesterday someone used Internet Explorer instead of Firefox, and my desktop got filled with some adware shortcuts which lead to some adware webpage. The shortcuts are named travel, card games, casino online, website hosting, etc. and they cannot be deleted; they donīt go anywhere by rightclicking them and clicking "delete", not even with Ad Aware or Spybot Search & destroy with all the updates.
So how could I remove them?
Help would be greatly appreciated

Regards,
Lauri

Hi Lauri,

Welcome at Trojan Hunter Smiley

I'd advice to go to www.Castlecops.com and register there(it's free)
and then
Download : http://computercops.biz/zx/Merijn/hijackthis.zip

Create and Unzip to a folder not your Desktop or the Temp folder,  doubleclick HijackThis.exe, and hit "Scan".
Unzip the download (using a piece of software like:  Winzip)

When the scan is finished,  the  "Scan"  button will change into a "Save Log"  button.
Press that,  save the log in a text file, and post it in the CCSP "Spyware - Hijack Related" forum:

http://computercops.biz/forum67.html

Most of what it lists will be harmless or even required, so do NOT fix anything yet.
Someone here will be happy to help you analyze the results.
