Registry Scan turns up potential problem

Huh

After running Trojan Hunter 4.0, I removed  a number of  trojans I recently became infected with, but the  entries below puzzle me because no course of action is recommened.    The same programs came up in a McAfee virus scan as "potentially unwanted programs."  I deleted three of them, but one of them comes up as "can't be deleted." I think it's from the same stuff listed below.  What do I do about these entries in the Registry Scan?

Registry key exists: HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\TypeLib\{53F066F0-A4C0-4F46-83EB-2DFD03F938CF} (matches Adware.IncrediFind.BHO.100)
Registry key exists: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\u ntopr1150 (matches Adware.TrafficHog.Toolbar.

Thanks
Richard

Hi,

Just made a sticky about this.  Here's the link to it: http://forum.misec.net/board/Malware/1097439057

If you'd like guidance on removing these registry subkeys manually, just ask and we can step you through it.

Thanks,

Aaron

Ok.  First you should make a backup of the registry.  If you have Windows XP, go to Start | All Programs | Accessories | System Tools | System Restore.  Create a restore point.  Enter a name for it when asked (you can pick whatever you like) and confirm that the restore point is made.

Then, click Start, then Run.  Type

regedit

and click OK.

Then, on the left, you'll see the registry subkeys.  Click the + next to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT, then TypeLib.  Locate {53F066F0-A4C0-4F46-83EB-2DFD03F938CF} in that listing.  Right-click it, and choose delete.

Now, you'll do the same for the other.  Click the + next to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, then SOFTWARE, then Microsoft, then Windows, then CurrentVersion, then Uninstall.  Locate a listing for untopr1150.  Right-click it and choose delete.
