European update site forces TH5.5 on my machine

My Toshiba laptop L775D-S7305 has issues running TH5.5.
It will run the scan but in a very jerky motion and hangs then runs and hangs again.
So, I uninstalled TH5.5 and re-installed my copy of TH5.3 but now with issues where the USA site will not update or respond the European site forced TH5.5 on the machine again and I had to uninstall it again because it jerks and stops and starts and jerks and does that all over again when scanning.
 
This is on a brand new install because it was doing it when I installed TH5.5 on it the first time.
 
Another Toshiba L675D runs the TH5.5 just fine.
The two have different CPU's one is a dual core Phenom that's the L675D
 
The other is an APU the A6-3400m.
It may be incompatible with the graphics engine on the APU Die.

OK,
TH 5.3 is back on the Toshiba L775D with the APU A6-3400m;
And the USA site is updating and not forcing TH 5.5 on the machine.
It updated and is scanning normally now.
