LiveUpdate.exe Hanging

lately, when i run "liveupdate.exe", after the update has completed and i have closed the liveupdate.exe GUI, "liveupdate.exe" continues running, which i can see when i look in "task manager".. is anyone else experiencing this problem?  
 
while i am here, i also noticed that, when updating TH, the TH icon in the systray no longer changes colors "for a minute", after updating TH, like it used to, before, with previous builds of TH..

I'm not seeing any hang problem from WV USA to either the USA server or the UK server.  Windows XP-SP2 Home Edition fully updated, 3mbit cable modem.  Do you see the problem irrespective of server?

When a new update arrives, I get a little red dot in the lower left corner of the THGuard's systray icon.  The dot disappears when the new ruleset is successfully installed.  
 
I suspect that if another copy of LiveUpdate is hung in memory, this may be causing the "missing red dot" problem.
