One thing I noticed when playing around with the "needs tested" LiveUpdate for 98 and Windows ME on my XP-SP2 system is this:

When liveupdating from the USA server, it downloads the update as Cumulative20060322.trf, G20060322_0800.trf, and then GEN.DLL. The LiveUpdate completes successfully.

When liveupdating from the UK server, it downloads the update as GEN.DLL, G20060322_0800.trf, and then Cumulative20060322.trf, The LiveUpdate completely FAILS on XP with the TEMP error.

Order seems to the cause of the failure...

Just downloaded the "needs testing" liveupdate as well. Keeping it on the USA server only for now, it's working fine here with the same, WinXP. Wonder if it has to do with what Magnus was enquiring about in this thread.
