Proxy with authentication...possible issue.

I downloaded the latest version, however cannot get it to update.
 
I am using a proxy, which requires domain authentication...for instance:
 
username: domain\username
 
I get the standard update failed, check your firewall settings message....in the background I see where it tried to ge the update, but received "2576 of 100 bytes (2576%)"
 
Please advise.

Will it update if you try to LiveUpdate from the USA server?
 
Also please make sure that your software firewall is not blocking the new version.

Doesn't matter which download location, same error.  
 
I am not running a firewall at this time. (completely uninstalled for testing this issue...)

There may be a resolution of the problem you are experiencing in the new LiveUpdate version that is under test right now for fixing LiveUpdate on Windows 98 and Windows ME (even though your system may not be 98 or Windows ME

BTW, were you running an earlier version of TrojanHunter before this new install?

I'll give the new version a try...
 
This is the only version (just found out about your product).
 
I am running XP with SP2.
 
The proxy is a BlueCoat appliance.
 
Hope that helps, I will let you know about the update with the new version in a bit.

I just tried the new version of the liveupdate.exe, no change.  I get the same exact error.

I've emailed Magnus and asked him to check back in on this thread.  He wanted the proxy name so am sure he had a thought in mind at the time. Wink

I suspect that your proxy uses Windows domain authentication (NTLM). This is not supported by TrojanHunter LiveUpdate currently.

This BlueCoat web site indicates that NTLM is used.

That would make since, being in a corporate office.
 
So, that leaves a question open.
 
You made the trial version able to use the liveupdate function, and removed the ability to manual update/download the rules from your site.
 
Do you plan to make the NTLM authentication work, make manual downloads available again, or am I out of luck?
